Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news website and a television host author, author and charitable donor. Originally from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family when she was the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president of the highly regarded debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the presidency. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Her fame and popularity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient automobiles. She was named The Most influential women in media by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in that list. In the same year Guardian included her in the Top 100 Media List. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the president of the media division at AOL. It was comprised of several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. They were very close to her father. But it was her bond with her mother that shaped her. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities that she still is known for. When she was 16 years old the girl moved into the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the third and first female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. She worked as a critic television host, and a columnist after her graduation. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own novels with his assistance.
