April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player American is part of a select category of females who have had medals won in multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the next few days. But more than that, Ross will be aiming for the first Olympic gold. This may be the last opportunity she gets as she is 39 years old. Her optimism is that she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best or even a good game, she believes the team could win a gold medal. Also, it's a matter of chance. Ross was born in California in Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area with her mother, father and sibling. The athletic pursuits she pursued began at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of different sports. As a prep-athlete she played indoor volleyball and track. She was definitely a cut above the rest in the latter sport. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside setter and hitter on the volleyball court as per her bio at the college. The award was presented to her as by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. She also was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross is working with Klineman from 2017, but Ross's beach game was established well before this. She has had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. Between 2007 and 2013 she played by Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the World Championships of 2009. In 2012, the pair were awarded silver medals at the London Olympic Games. They were beaten out for the gold by the legendary duo comprised of Misty May-Treanor as well as Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she announced her retirement. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans of USC in her college years after she graduated the high school she attended. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was impressive. When she was a freshman in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. The Trojans could also make it to the Final Four with her help. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return as an All-American. During her final two seasons as a member of the Trojans' program they won success by winning two the national title in consecutive years. Individually she had cemented her place as a legend winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross took a course in the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the privilege of watching her daughter grow into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mom died from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. Her mother is still dear. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
