Suzanne Pleshette was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York in January 1937. She passed away in January 2008. Pleshette graduated from The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater which is where she trained with Sanford Meisner. With more than 100 credits, she started her career as an actor on the stage. Her performance in the role of Emily Hartley, a TV series host from 1972 to 1978 on The Bob Newhart Show was one of her most popular roles. In 1989 Pleshette starred as Christine Broderick in the series Nightingales. She was Jackie Hansen in the television series The Boys Are Back from 1994 until 1995. Pleshette was frequent on the TV series Suzanne Pleshette. Her characters included Maggie Briggs (Good Morning, Miami), 8 Simple Rules and Will & Grace. The actress was also a part of The Geisha Boy as well as The Birds. An Annie Award was presented to her for her vocal performance in The Lion King II - Simba's Pride. Pleshette was awarded two Golden Globe Awards nominations.
